Set Pieces part 01 (on location)

Producer

The film producer oversees a movie project from inception to distribution, acting as the primary logistical manager.
They initiate the process by securing story rights, commissioning scripts, and hiring the director.
They raise financial backing and establish the baseline budget and filming schedule.
They manage day-to-day operations and problem-solve during shooting to keep production on time.
They supervise post-production editing, marketing strategies, and final theatrical and streaming distribution
During Production, the Producer has ultimate responsibility, and is the most senior point for problem solving, decision making, with ultimate day to day accountability for budget and spend, logistics, services, crew, locations, insurance, reputation and more. Ultimately the Producer has responsibility for all aspects of a film's production except for the creative activities and deliverables which fall to the Director.

Final Truth: Shoot Schedule

The production is expected to feature shooting at more than a dozen locations, including scenes based in ancient Egypt and 1920's Southampton docks, in and around Chichester, and a number of period properties, and including Chichester Cathedral. Scenes will include a variety of dramatic chase sequences, stunts, moments of discovery, and indeed more traditional dialogue scenes, with a variety of period and modern day characters ranging from 8 years old up to mid-80's.

Consequently, the film's production is shooting each story element as a separate sub-project in order to keep the whole production moving forward whilst only engaging the cast, crew and services needed to complete each element. Whilst this is a slightly more time consuming approach to more traditional produciton methods, we believe this to be the most cost-effective way to ensure the story is told in the best way possible, whilst benefitting everyone that is involved and supporting the production. This approach also allows the production team to focus their fund raising activities on each sub-project, as well as raising the funds necessary to complete each stage of production and post-production. All funds so far (from October 2024 to July 2025 have been sourced from publicly funded grants, ticket sales, and small-scale private donationa).

The 2025 schedule will create a good variety of scenes to be packaged in to the production's Investor Presentation Pack, which will also include Treatment, Script, Storyboards and supporting marketing materials. We also hope for each scene to create a standalone short film, which can then be utlised for team showreels and marketing, whilst supporting our fund raising activities for the next sub-projects.

Final Truth: Action-Chase Scene (2025 Schedule)

Incorporating foot chases, motorbike chase, bus pulling away, cyclist, delivery van, hand-to-hand combat.

Status: Post-Production in progress: 3rd Edit, Music and ADR, with foley and sound design pending.

Concept - Story

Final Truth: NEWS

23-May-2025 FINAL TRUTH: Action-Chase Scene completes filming on 23rd May without a hitch. Comprising of fast-action running and fighting around Chichester Cathedral's grounds, motorbike chase and double-decker bus stunt, restaurant chase and fight scene, crowded street chase, and final jiujitsu style fight at the City Council's offices. A carefully planned and rehearsed week of filming that required 7 months planning, with a cast of 21 and crew of 30. All largely from in and around Chichester, including a number of aspiring actors and crew, students from University of Chichester and Southampton, and the community.

30th March - Final Truth has launched pre-production for it's Chase Scene, with filming expected to take place in May 2025

What follows is a brief summary of the key events that have marked the journey of Final Truth so far.

More details will be added.

26th July - Chichester FilmMakers Quarterly Event: Showing of the 2nd Edit of the Chase Scene with temporary foley, soundtrack and voice overs; BTS Trailer; Ancient Egypt sizzler; Insights in to the next steps for Final Truth.

26th May - Post-production commences for the Action-Chase Scene. Beginning with initial bin reviews, DaVinci Resolve timeline builds and reviews between the Editorial team and Director. There's a long road ahead as the story is cut together, and then the addition of foley, sound design, voice overs, visual effects (VFX) and CGI, and music are created, produced and applied to the edit.

23rd May - With filming starting at 8:30am outside the Cathedral, including police car arrival and police chases, thug takedowns, stealing of a motorcylcists motorbike, and an angry Museum Curator

22nd May - The day started early at 5:30am with rehearsals and filming kicking off at just after 8:30am. A full on day of fight shots, crowd scenes, a story reveal, motorbike chases, and culminating in the bus-motorbike chase and stunt sequence.

21st May - During a day of rain, shooting commenced at The Ghost In The Feast, with external filming being completed at the end of the day, when rain finally stopped

20th May - Action-Chase Scene: Go-No Go 'Heads Of' team call gives the go ahead to commence filming on 21st May

18th May - The Action-Chase Scene Production Team decides to go ahead and make major schedule revisions due to changes in the weather. Resulting in a complete reschedule of all 3 days filming

14th May - Ancient Egypt: Basic building blocks and architectural assets are completed and approved. Enquiries begin to locate and secure the use of a large-scale CGI rendering farm to convert the drafted assets in to believable footage for Final Truth, whilst work on the CGI environments commences (ie. landscapes, trees, skies, wind, sand storms, creaturs etc)

Early May - Insurance is issued after protracted negotiations and completion of greatly-enhanced risk assessments and safe-guard planning, and stakeholder presentations for the Action-Chase Scene

April - 'In Principle' filming permits are granted to Chichester FilmMakers for the Action-Chase Scene to be filmed on the streets of central Chichester

March 2025 - PreProduction for the Action-Chase Scene commenses, on the assumption of May shoot

February 2025 - Ancient Egypt: With help from industry contacts, CGI work begins on drafting the set-pieces for the various backdrops, palaces, temples, villages and villagers. Often an enormously expensive task due to the computing power needed and the artistic skills required.

1st February - Action-Chase Scene: Cast Calls are published for performance artists to play the part of thugs and police

1st February - Action-Chase Scene: Crew Calls are published to start filling additional key production roles

26th January - Official launch of Final Truth project at Chichester FilmMakers Annual Event

January 2025 - Social Media marketing begins

1st November - Location scouting gains momentum with key locations, and gains assistance from local creative and education community. Prelimary enquiries and presentations for the key locations begin withadditional stakeholders.

1st October - Key scenes identified for fund raising activities, with early stage planning underway for central Chichester film shoot and engagement with key stakeholders.

1st September - Story development for Final Truth continues with a re-draft of ACT I
