The Chichester 48-Hour Film Makers Challenge
A chance to show off your film making skills and creativity, in a laser focussed collaborative team environment, pursuing your passion, chasing your dreams and competing for the prized 1st place for Best Overall Film and the cash prize of £500 (British pounds).
When Is The Competition?
The Competition has been pushed back to early 2026. News will follow here soon.
What Do I Need?
You'll need to be able to produce a short film of between 4 and 9 minutes screen time, using any tools at your disposal such as an iPhone, low end or high end cinematic camera, sound boom and field recorder, or your phone's microphone.
All we ask is that the final film is as professional as possible. That means it will ideally need to be graded and edited. The script will need to have been thought out and acted by named actors (ie. will have a professional profile on IMDB or Spotlight or similar).
You can use any locations of your choosing provided you have the owner's permission. This could be your home, college, place of work, studio, or public spaces / buildings where permission isn't needed or you have arranged prior written permission.
How Will The Competition Be Judged?
A panel of judges will assess each film against a number of key criteria. These include:
-
Story and Script
-
Acting
-
Cinematography
-
Editing and Grading
-
Soundtrack (sound design, foley, music etc)
-
Elements (props, dialogue, genre as described at the start of the competition)
Who Can Take Part?
Anyone of the age 18 and over can take part and be either the team leader for your team or a team member, from anywhere in the world. But remember the red carpet awards ceremony takes place in January at the Chichester FilmMakers Annual Event in Chichester, West Sussex, England.
The team leader is the single point of contact between the competition, the organisers, and the team.
What Is The Cost To Enter?
To be confirmed.
